Dear PodRide Supporter,
We’ve been quiet of late. Time for an update.
We have two key things happening at the moment.
First, the work of design digitization and optimization is continuing. Mikael is still back in Sweden working on the design. Fred has been in China for the past 6 months studying Chinese, but is back on board for a couple of months during a break in studies. Fred and Mikael meet each day via Skype and work through the many components that are being drawn up for production.
The design work is not a simple straight forward path. There are many challenges that need to be overcome. We have made a lot of progress on this front, some components have been redesigned multiple times, and the redesign of one component can often require the recalibration of neighbouring components. The optimized PodRide frame along with the front and rear swing arm assemblies are key components – last month we sent the completed blueprints for these and other items to the factory for costing. There are still problems to be solved, and to give you a sense of the job at hand, when completed there will be several hundred technical drawings of all the components and assemblies.
The second front we are working on is preparing the necessary documents and supporting materials to raise funding to bring PodRide to market. Because PodRide will be a very international business with customers across the planet we have had to look at how best to setup and structure to handle this effectively.
To assist us in doing PodRide right, I’m pleased to let you know that we have put together an advisory board comprising three highly experienced individuals with extensive backgrounds in the fields of law, finance and international business. You will find out more about these three people shortly, when we publish details about the opportunity to invest in PodRide.
It’s not all smooth sailing… We’ve had limited resources and progress has been slow over the past several months. Also we have been down a few different roads on the company formation, but are confident that we now have the right advice in this area. The recent slow pace of progress has been frustrating to us, but we are excited at the prospect that we will soon have the necessary investment funding that will allow us to put in place the resources needed to move PodRide forward at a much faster pace.
We are committed to producing a quality product that will serve you well. We thank you for your continued patience and support.
